Lego League Competition

3rd December 2015

A small team from Year 6 entered this years LEGO League competition. It is a worldwide competition in which children design and build a lego robot to complete a series of challenges. This years theme was Trash Trek and the children were asked to design a solution to the problem of disposing of our waste. Our team, the LEGO legends, decided to focus on the issue of recycling. We found out that lots of people in South Tyneside put the wrong rubbish in their blue bins, so we created a short video explaining what should and shouldn’t go in a blue bin using Scratch and shared it with the rest of the class.

We went to the regional finals on Thursday 3rd December and had a fantastic time. The judges were very impressed with our teamwork and said that we entered fully into the spirit of the day.
